Weekly Obsessions

The awesome Kelly at KellyVision started posting a weekly post highlighting whatever she happened to be obsessed with that week. I LOVE this idea, so much in fact that I will be doing it myself every Saturday.

BOOKS

Cover of Something To Talk About by Meryl Wilsner (goodreads)

This book has been on my radar since the deal announcement and I am so excited that it has a cover!

Such a bright, fun cover, too! I love how eye catching it is and how it is very on trend with the rest of the rom-com book covers out there. I cannot wait to read this one!

The Nobleman's Guide to Scandal and Shipwrecks by Mackenzi Lee (goodreads)

I am obsessed with the fact that this book will exist and the cover!

It matches the others in this series perfectly and I am so excited that we are going to get another book about a Montague sibling!

MOVIES/TV

Riley Keough To Star In Daisy Jones and The Six

As per The Hollywood Reporter, Riley Keough has snagged the role of Daisy in the upcoming television adaptation of Daisy Jones and the Six. It's set to be a series available through Amazon. I loved the book and am thrilled with this casting news. They've chosen a great actress to play the part and I think she is going to be a perfect Daisy. Now we just have to wait and see who they cast as Billy.

A very book cover heavy obsessions post this week. So many pretty covers were released and I am highlighting my faves below. It's also Thanksgiving Weekend here in Canada so Happy Thanksgiving to all of my fellow Canadians. I hope you enjoy the long weekend.

BOOKS

Cover for More Than Maybe by Erin Hahn (goodreads)

This cover is immediately eye catching thanks to its bright colours. I also love that the o in more is a record.

The synopsis of this seems to match the cover perfectly and I cannot wait to read another Erin Hahn book.

Cover for Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles (goodreads)

Moulin Rouge meets Phantom Of The Opera is how this book is described and I would say the cover captures that description perfectly.

I love the colour scheme and this is one I am dying to get my hands on in 2020! It just sounds incredible and now it has a cover to match.

Cover for Seasons of the Storm by Elle Cosimano (goodreads)

This cover is perfect for a story about the human embodiments of winter and spring falling in love with each other! I love how the winter and spring sides blend I to each other.

It's so pretty! I am really into everything about this book and the cover has just made me want to read it even more.

BOOKS

Cover For Chosen Ones by Veronica Roth (goodreads)

Veronica Roth is branching out and writing her first adult book. The cover was just recently revealed and it is amazing! The book itself also sounds really good.

I love the idea of looking at what happens to the 'chosen one' after they save the day. This seems poised to look at the impact of trauma on someone who has had to save the world, and the celebrity that would come with it.

TV/MOVIES

Birds Of Prey Movie Posters

Harley Quinn may not be one of the Birds Of Prey but the promo for the movie is heavily featuring her. These two below posters are my favourite from the bunch that were just released.

Loving the bright colour schemes and how much fun Margot Robbie seems to be having with this role. I am, sadly, not 100% sold on the trailer but I am going to check out this movie regardless.

BOOK

Wicked Villains Series by Katee Robert (goodreads)

I stumbled across this series that used the Disney villains as inspiration and adds a very sexy twist. The first book, Desperate Measures is currently out (and I literally JUST purchased the ebook) and revolves around Jafar and Jasmine.

The sequels will feature Meg/Hades and Hook/Tinkerbell so I am hoping this one is really good because I already want to read the others. Not only do these offer up a much sexier take on these fairytales it, from what I understand, sets them in a non-magical, modern setting.

TV/MOVIES

Prodigal Son

The premise of this one hooked me immediately. A son of a serial killer becomes a criminal profiler to help catch criminals. It also stars Michael Sheen and Tom Payne, both of whom I have enjoyed in other projects.

The first episode was strong enough for me to want to watch episode two. Hopefully it keeps it up as I could easily see it becoming one of my favourites.

Another week with some fun reveals. We're getting into trailer reveal season for movies that have Oscar potential so I am especially excited for all of those coming up.

TV/MOVIES

Poster for Last Christmas

Everyone who reads this blog knows that I adore rom-coms. The second I heard about this one starring Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding I wanted to know more.

We now have the first official poster and it's pretty cute!

I hope it is as cute as I am expecting. I need a trailer to be released so that I can get a better sense of what this movie is going to be like.

First Trailer for Queen and Slim

Speaking of movies that have Oscar potential  .... the first trailer for Queen and Slim was recently released. It looks intense and really good.

Daniel Kaluuya look like he is giving a fantastic performance. I am going to be curious to see how the buzz builds for this one as festival season approaches.
